Cold Crops
December 28, 2012Recently TBG Horticulturist Joshua Fietz spoke to 13ABC about “cold crops” and how to harvest veggies in the cooler months. According to Fietz, the colder weather will actually give vegetables like broccoli and lettuce a sweeter taste, because they grow a bit slower and harvest longer. Having a harvest in fall—and even in the spring—will allow you to reap greater rewards and a bigger bounty from your garden.
