Discover the Garden

Our Discover the Garden program is a family activity series, brought to you by the Children’s Education Department of Toledo Botanical Garden and generously sponsored by BP of Ohio.  The series offers an interactive and educational opportunity for children and parents alike, using the Garden as their outdoor lab.  Each season a new activity can be found in the Visitor's Center or at the Discovery Board located on the porch of the Children’s Education building.  For more information, contact the Children’s Education Department at 419-536-5589.

Fall Activity:

Leaf Hunt
Fall is a lovely time to visit Toledo Botanical Garden, especially when the leaves are changing color.  Besides beautiful flowers we have a wide variety of trees and shrubs here at the garden, and they all have interesting leaves. As you explore the garden look for our Leaf Hunt sheet in the Visitor's Center, or on the porch of the Children's Education building.  When you have found as many of the leaves as you can return your sheet to the Visitor Center, Mon-Fri 9:00am-5:00pm, Sat. & Sun. 11:00 am-4:00 pm (weekend hours end on Oct. 24, 2011) and receive a prize.  Have fun!

Other opportunities to enjoy the garden with your family:

Special Events:  The Children's Education Department provides children's activities at many special events including: Spring Plant Sale, Crosby Festival of the Arts, Arts In the Garden, Fall Festival and Heralding the Holidays.
