A secluded garden, accessible by passing through a stately iron gate in the stone wall that makes up one of its boundaries, the Green Garden focuses on texture and foliage rather than flowers. Visitors enter onto a stone patio covered by a wisteria arbor and are invited to step off the patio onto the lawn, approaching the edge of this slightly circle garden bed. There is a stone perimeter around the lawn that raises the bed approximately two feet.
A number of interesting shrubs and trees provide wonderful year-round interest in the Garden. A Harry Lauder’s Walking Stick (Corylus avellana ‘Contorta’) catches the eye with its corkscrew branching this and other specimens.

This Garden is peaceful and calming and is often referred to as a “secret garden” by young visitors. When you visit this Garden, notice the texture and color of the shrubs that are planted and truly enjoy this local treasure.
