Garden Docent
Share your love of gardening and plants. Be a Garden Docent. A docent leads small groups of visitors through the Garden and provides interpretation about the design of the gardens, as well as providing information about the sculptures, trees, and artifacts found throughout the Garden.

Open Art Day Project Facilitator
Share your enthusiasm of arts and crafts with families by engaging visitors in interactive discourse, hands-on discovery and exploration with various art medium while the artist engages in his or her creative process. Mediums include clay pottery, glass, paint, photography, and others. Knowledge of various art mediums is preferred.

Crosby Festival of the Arts
Last year we used over 150 volunteers for the Festival. It could not happen without volunteers! The primary responsibility is to help keep the Festival running smoothly.

Administrative Support
Want to help the Garden but don't like to work outside? Then maybe helping the business side of the Garden is the thing for you. Under supervision of the Office Manager, routine office tasks such as compiling mail projects, reception work, and other light office duties help the Garden to achieve its mission of Enriching Lives Through Gardens, the Arts, and Nature.

Wedding and Special Event Host
Greets wedding guests as well as other visitors who come to the park on that day or for special events. Answers questions and directs guests to the appropriate site and parking. Primary responsibility is to facilitate the smooth flow of traffic coming into the Garden and help guests find their way.

Childhood Educator Assistant
Assists with children’s public outreach educational programs. Some programs take place at the Garden while other programs travel to the classroom. Programs offered on-site include a Growing Science module, Pioneer Living module, and an Early Sprouts module. Classroom programs also cover a wide variety of environmental and Native American topics.

Horticultural Support for Gardens
Under staff supervision, performs routine gardening maintenance, and other related duties as assigned. Assists in the preparation of planting areas, watering, weeding, dead-heading, edging, mulching, pruning and raking. Knowledge of horticulture helpful. Task involves physical labor including bending, kneeling, lifting as well as working in various weather conditions such as summer heat, rain, etc.

General Maintenance & Carpentry
Working under the direct supervision of TBG staff, assists with general maintenance and upkeep of Garden facilities including buildings, garden structures and hardscape. Some duties include home repairs and remodeling, drywall, electrical, plumbing, surface preparation and painting, woodworking and carpentry, machine repair/maintenance, etc.

Events Manager Support
Participate in the smooth execution of programs and events such as the annual Crosby Award Luncheon, Crosby Festival of the Arts, Jazz in the Garden, workshops, special tours, and others. Facilitates set-up, clean-up, greeting guests, checking attendance rosters, distributing tickets and other materials, facilitating workshop activities, etc. Assist with office support such as assembling publicity materials, photocopying, processing mailings, and if appropriate, writing and designing publicity materials and conducting publicity-related research.

Internships
Students with backgrounds in plant science, environmental education, art, event management and other areas can find meaningful ways to participate in Garden operations and activities while gaining valuable knowledge and resume-building experience. Most opportunities are seasonal (April-October) but some special projects do occur throughout the year. Internships are available in the following areas - Horticulture, Children's Education, Special Events

Toledo GROWs Assistant
Help create public awareness and raise the standard of horticulture in the community by helping people grow their own food, learn nutritional values and become active in their own neighborhoods. Volunteers will work at various garden sites throughout the city.
