Toledo GROWs Job Coach

Toledo GROWs, the community garden outreach of Toledo Botanical Garden, is seeking a qualified leader to join our diverse community gardening and urban agriculture team as a Job Coach. This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week. This position is funded  through a partnership with the Lucas County Department of Juvenile Justice, and will work with another Job Coach to oversee the court’s CITE (Community Integration and Training for Employment) clients as they receive job skills training at Toledo GROWs within the platform of community gardening and urban agriculture. Qualified applicants will have experience working with delinquent youth, as well as carpentry and building/property maintenance skills. This is a grant-funded position. Continuation of this position beyond the date of 12/31/15 is contingent upon funding.

Part-time Maintenance Position

Toledo Botanical Garden seeks a knowledgeable, multi-talented handy-person to conduct ongoing maintenance that could include plumbing, electrical, HVAC, light construction and repair.  Expertise in each of these areas is not mandatory, but general knowledge and the ability to creatively troubleshoot is ideal.  Position is approx. 20 hours, schedule is flexible.  Collaborative, frugal and friendly spirit is essential.

Toledo GROWs Urban Farm Assistant

Toledo GROWs, the community garden outreach of Toledo Botanical Garden, is seeking a qualified leader to join our diverse community gardening and urban agriculture team as an Urban Farm Assistant.  This is a year-round, part-time position with workers compensation.  Evening and weekend hours will be required. This position will be the primary Toledo GROWs staff responsible for weekend and holiday chores of greenhouse oversight and animals (REQUIRED on both Saturdays AND Sundays).  Hours and days during the workweek are flexible. In addition, this position has the potential to increase to full-time hours during the peak of the growing season.
